Anywhere across the Philippines it is safe to brush your teeth with tab water, but you should refrain from drinking it. The risk of getting diarrhea is increased due to the lack of hygenic standards when preparing food and beverages (e.g. ice cubes made of unfiltered tab water).

According to the World Health Organisation, the Philippines one of several countries worldwide where malaria is present. Malaria is a life-threatening desease caused by a parasite. It is not a virus and is not cureable with antibiotics. This parasite is transfered by the bite of an infected mosquito. Since there is no vaccine againts the malaria, it is recommended to take precautionary measures when traveling into areas with high chances of infection.
