Calauit Island

Ships & Ferrys to and from Coron

Taking a boat to Coron from Manila or other parts of Palawan is an exciting and affordable way for you to travel, specially if you have heavy luggage and plenty of time to spare, for the distances between the different islands are huge and boat schedules change frequently, meaning you may have to wait for a few nights in order to get your boat.

You can easily make contact with Filipinos (or better: Filipinos will make contact with you). You dont have to be afraid of criminals and gangsters, but worldwide wherever you go there are always "black sheep" so please take care of your belongings and dont leave them unattended.

If you have never taken a boat in the Philippines or in other not so rich countries you should know that some ships can be very uncomfortable to travel with. The best shipping line you can take to Coron is the weekly 2GO Travel (former Superferry) from Manila or from Puerto Princesa City. A more adventurous ride is promised when taking one of the cargo vessels operated by San Nicholas Lines which runs Manila-Coron-Manila thrice per week or the Atienza Shipping Lines running Manila-Coron-Liminangcong (El Nido) and retour on a weekly basis.

If you are planning to travel to Coron from El Nido or vice vers, you can take also one of numerous outrigger boats e.g. The M/BCA Jessebel which ply the route twice per week. Costs for this trip are 1800php per person (one way) and travel time is ca. 8 hours depending on weather conditions. Be prepared for a sometimes rough ride when crossing the Linapacan Strait between the Palawan main island and the Calamian Group!

You may also be able to get one of the irregular and unscheduled boat rides from Batangas City or San Jose, Mindoro.
